Beta season

Before we run a full league, we need to test the platform, evaluate the system under real matches, and collect your feedback. The beta is 6 weeks of regular play plus a playoff weekend: same Swiss Hybrid format, smaller scale. We use it to find bugs, tune pairing and moderation, and optimise everything for a smooth full release. Your participation and feedback are what make that possible.

Beta at a glance

6 weeks of regular play plus a playoff weekend. Phase 1 (3 weeks) in one pool; then we split into two divisions for Phase 2 (3 weeks); then playoffs. Min 8 teams, target 12 - 16. Free to enter; no prizes — we want a clean run and your input.

Phase 1: Weeks 1-3 (one pool)

Same idea as the full format: all teams in one Swiss pool. Week 1 random; Weeks 2 - 3 pair by record. Standings after Week 3 decide the split into top half and bottom half for Phase 2.

After Week 3: division split

Standings lock. We assign divisions (top half → upper, bottom half → lower). Then Phase 2 starts — 3 more rounds in your division so we can test the full flow.

Phase 2: Weeks 4 - 6 (division play)

Same structure as the full format: you’re in a division with the teams around your level. You play each of them once over three weeks. Every match matters — you’re fighting for the top 4 to make playoffs. Division A is the championship tier; other divisions run in parallel with their own playoff. Beta is shorter, but the shape is the same.

Playoff weekend

One weekend to crown the champions. Top 4 per division go into a single-elimination bracket. Semis and the third-place match are one game; the Grand Final is Best-of-3 (first to 2 wins). Same format as the full season — we’re testing the full pipeline, including playoffs.

What we’re testing

Registration, match submission, result validation, Swiss pairing, phase transition and moderation. We’re also grading team performance so we have data for Season 1 placement. Anything that feels broken or confusing — we want to hear it.

Platform

Registration, scheduling, draft, result submission, moderation queue.

Format

Swiss pairing, phase transition, division assignment, standings and tiebreakers.

Feedback

Rules clarity, scheduling preferences, UX issues and feature requests.

Your feedback shapes the full release

After the beta we’ll close registration, review the data and your feedback, fix issues and optimise the platform. Then we open Season 1 for real. Taking part in the beta means you help us get there — and you’ll be ready when we go live.

The full season format (5 weeks Phase 1, 7 weeks Phase 2, playoffs) is the same structure at larger scale. Beta is a shortened run (6 weeks + playoff weekend) to validate it.
